Batch computing, the process of processing large amounts of data without human interaction, could be revolutionized by the use of foundation models. While current human-in-the-loop systems are already powered by such models, the potential applications of foundation models extend far beyond these uses. In healthcare, human rights, and science, AI-powered batch processing systems could be used to streamline processes and improve outcomes. However, challenges such as high data volumes and the need for high-throughput processing must be addressed, as well as maintaining accuracy without human intervention. Despite these challenges, the impact of foundation models on batch processing tasks is extremely promising and could change the way we approach many aspects of society.
