The goal is to accelerate progress towards a world in which AI helps solve the biggest challenges facing humanity, in a bold and responsible way. The creation of Google DeepMind is meant to simplify the way decisions are made and focus on achieving the biggest impact. Together, these teams aspire to deliver AI research and products that will dramatically improve the lives of billions of people, transform industries, advance science, and serve diverse communities. The new Scientific Board for Google DeepMind will oversee research progress and direction of the unit, led by Koray Kavukcuoglu and representatives from across the organization.
